What's the difference between MTP® and generic MPO connectors?

MTP® is a registered trademark of US Conec representing their premium brand MPO connector. MTP® connectors feature superior mechanical design with tighter tolerances, better alignment, and more consistent performance than generic MPO connectors. Key advantages include: removable housing for easy cleaning, improved spring design for better connection reliability, and consistent factory performance meeting elite specifications.

When should I choose LSZH vs Plenum jacket?

Choose LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) for international installations, environmentally conscious projects, or anywhere LSZH is specified by local codes. LSZH jackets produce minimal smoke and no toxic halogen gases if burned. Choose Plenum (OFNP) for North American installations in air handling spaces such as raised floors, drop ceilings, or HVAC plenums. Plenum cables meet UL 910 and NFPA 262 fire safety codes required for these spaces.

Can MTP® cables be used with generic MPO equipment?

Yes! MTP® brand connectors are fully compatible with standard MPO interfaces. The MTP® connector follows the same IEC 61754-7 standard as generic MPO, so they will mate correctly with MPO cassettes, transceivers, and other equipment. You'll get the best performance by using MTP® brand throughout your system.

What makes elite 0.35dB connectors important for 100G?

For 100GBASE-SR4 over OM4 fiber, the total link budget is only 1.9dB. Elite 0.35dB connectors provide essential performance headroom: a typical 3-connection link with elite connectors uses ~1.05dB (3 x 0.35dB), leaving 0.85dB margin. Standard 0.5dB connectors would use ~1.5dB, leaving only 0.4dB margin. For mission-critical 100G deployments, elite connectors are not optional.

Are your MTP® cables compatible with Cisco, Juniper, and other vendors?

Absolutely! Our MTP® trunk cables are vendor-neutral and work with all major equipment manufacturers including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE, Dell, and others. The MTP®/MPO interface is an industry standard (IEC 61754-7), and our Type B polarity configuration follows the most common industry practice. We can also provide Type A or Type C polarity if your specific deployment requires it.

What testing documentation do you provide?

Every MTP® trunk cable includes comprehensive factory test reports documenting: insertion loss for all 12 fibers at applicable wavelengths (850nm for multimode, 1310nm for single-mode), return loss verification exceeding -20dB, polarity confirmation, visual connector inspection results, and pass/fail status with reference to TIA/IEC standards. Test reports are provided in PDF format with unique cable serial numbers for full traceability.

Do you offer custom cable lengths and configurations?

Yes! We manufacture custom MTP® trunk cables to exact specifications. Options include: any length from 1m to 100m+, Type A/B/C polarity, 8-fiber / 12-fiber / 24-fiber, custom jacket colors, custom labeling, and mixed configurations (e.g., MTP® one end, LC breakout other end). What warranty coverage do MTP® cables have?

All MTP® trunk cables include manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Standard warranty period is 3 years for MTP® brand cables.
